Living healthfully, one meal, one mile at a time

Weekend Recap

Saturday morning I started the day out with a yummy Whole30 breakfast…

Then we drove to my husband’s parents house so my daughter could stay the night, YAY!

After dropping my daughter off we got right to business… we went to Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and a flooring store. We are planning on re-flooring the entire first floor of our house. I can’t wait!!

This is the best flavor!!

After that we swung by Chipotle to pick up lunch and brought it home and ate it on the deck. Then we headed right back out to stop at the mall and pick up dinner.

We thought about walking but instead stopped at a local casino, we lost some and won some… all and all I think we broke even. Which is better than we do most of the time, ha! We came home and made a sea food feast that was all Whole30 approved. I made the cocktail sauce myself and my husband said it was the best he’s ever had!

After dinner we went for a long walk since I’m currently in a StepBet.

Sunday Morning we slept in a little and started the day off with another Whole30 approved breakfast. I’ve come to really love eggs, I guess eating them pretty much over 40 days in a row will do that to a person. Haha!

We stopped at Target and got some iced coffee and picked up a few things we needed (and a few things we didn’t of course). 😉 Then we headed out to a local garden called the Yaddo. It has some beautiful fountains, flowers and scenery… here are a some pictures:

After that we picked up my daughter and headed to the Saratoga State Park. She loved it of course. We went on a 5 mile hike to see some mineral springs and stopped along the way to take plenty of pictures. We didn’t sample any of the mineral water though, yuck! Side note: I used to work at the spa in this state park. It was a full amenity day spa but it also had historical mineral baths people could take. Basically you go into a room and there is a single deep bath tub filled with warm, bubbly, brown water and you just soak and relax in the water for about 30 minutes. Since the mineral water is naturally effervescent, you float in the water which is very good for muscle pain and joint soreness. It’s great for your skin and also back aches since all of the internal organs float and take pressure off of your back. It has so many healing qualities, the list goes on and on. I personally enjoyed the free facials and massages. 😉

When we got home my daughter went for a little swim and I made burgers and hot dogs on the grill.

After that it was another walk (thanks StepBet, ha). We saw the second turtle of the day (the first was at the state park, we also saw a snake there) and countless bunnies. We ran into the ice cream truck so my husband and daughter got a treat. My daughter and I both look the same when we eat ice cream, haha!

We ended the night with some Beauty and the Beast, I think the real version was a little too scary at the end for my daughter.

Such a busy weekend but it was really fun and I got in a ton of walking.

Hope everyone had a great weekend… did you do anything fun?
